General Sports Model
Own design general sports model put to paper about 12 years ago and resurrected after sorting out the loft. Lite ply fuselage and built up wing with swept leading edge and semi symmetrical section. Most parts came from the spares bin. Engine cowling moulded from 19p lemonade bottle – it really does work. Powered by OS46LA – bought at club auction - thanks Mark. Ended up quite light at 3.3lbs and performs splendidly. Test flight by Pete Evans at Fun Weekend and was great to see own plane put through its paces. A few adjustments to undercarriage to increase prop clearance, control throws for more authority and trims. Now flying regularly at Coombes and must think of a name for it !
Graupner Giles 202 ARTF
Quite a different proposition but a really good ARTF. Turned out lighter than instructions which must be a good thing. Powered by new OS46AX and test flown by Pim. Needed some adjustments to control throws and centres - the control surface sizes are very generous so quite a bit of exponential dialled in to smooth things out.
